Mental illnesses affect everyone in some way. According to the Canadian Mental Health Association, 20% of Canadians will personally be affected by mental illness in his or her lifetime, and all will be touched by it. Mental health research is both timely and important.

On February 15th a representative from Statistics Canada will give an introduction to survey data on mental health, including:

  • The Canadian Community Health Survey - Mental Health (CCHS-MH)
  • The Canadian Forces Mental Health Survey (CFMHS)
  • The Survey of Living with Chronic Diseases in Canada - Anxiety and Depression (SCLDC)

Participants will get an introduction to data available to researchers, how to access those data, and how to use them to enrich research.

This presentation will take place in English. Slides will be available in French.

  • Melanie Hoover: Analyst, Health Statistics, Statistics Canada
