Fonds consists of a variety of records pertaining to Arthur Bray's writings and research into UFOs and UFO-related topics including correspondence, clippings, pamphlets, essays, reports, declassified material, photographs, drawings, course material, specimens from Les Ecureuils Iron Mass and more.
Series consists of material related to Wilbert B. Smith's life and research. The series is divided into four sub series, which pertain to Mr. Smith's involvement with Project Magnet and Project Second Story, as well as biographical information on Mr. Smith, his research and writings, and his correspondence. Wilbert B. Smith (1910-1962) was a Canadian radio engineer who developed an interest in the studying of UFOs. These records were acquired by Arthur Bray from Mr. Smith's wife and son and forms part of Mr. Bray's papers. Sub series primarily consists of Wilbert Smith's correspondence with various individuals pertaining to—but not limited to—Project Magnet, a program established by Transport Canada to study the phenomena of unidentified flying objects. The program was under the direction of Wilbert Smith through its entirety, from 1950 to 1954. The vast majority of the correspondence are only photocopies.
File consists of Wilbert Smith's correspondence with Donald E. Keyhoe, Edward S. Schultz, Dwight A. Myer, W. Innes, Mr. Manning, Harry Gesner, A. David Middleton (with his resume enclosed) and others, concerning UFOs and Project Magnet. In addition, Smith is cc'd in a correspondence from Schultz to Robert P. Young. File also includes letters from Wilbert B. Smith pertaining to "Answers and Clarifications on Metaphysical Research Questions and Problems".
File consists of Wilbert Smith's correspondence with A. David Middleton, Harry M. Gesner, W. Innes, D. J. Frost, and others concerning U.F.O's, flying saucers, and Project Magnet. File also includes letters to Harry Gesner from "Gene" regarding Wilbert Smith, letters from "Jack" to "Bill" about Wilbert Smith, and a confidential report of A. David Middleton pertaining to UFO sightings.
File consists of Wilbert Smith's correspondence concerning Project Magnet and UFOs, as well as a brief report/statement regarding the closing of Project Magnet in October 1954. The report/statement also outlined some of the project's conclusions.
