It includes materials related to feminist publishers from Canada and the United States, collected by Wendy McPeake when she was arts coordinator for Upstream magazine. The papers were compiled by the head office of the Canadian Labour Congress, as well as local offices throughout the region. The Susan Schellenberg and Rosemary Barnes fonds documents the collaboration between the two women, particularly in their joint reflections on the contributions and limitations of conventional mental health care and their joint search for alternatives such as art therapy. Susan Schellenberg and Rosemary Barnes first met in 1990, when they were both active in the struggle of Women's College Hospital against merger with Toronto General Hospital. They co-authored the book "Committed to the Sane Asylum: Narratives on Mental Wellness and Healing". The fonds documents the various reflections, presentations and articles that emerged from this collaboration.
