This sub-series contains Helen Levine's published and non-published essays, presentations, speeches, and articles. The sub-series especially focuses on feminist topics and includes Helen Levine's journal publication, "The Personal is Political: Feminism and the Helping Professions."

Publicity for "Between friends"

This sub-series contains correspondence, records, and some photographs concerning Helen Levine and Oonagh Berry's 2006 book entitled, "Between Friends." The file also contains one CD-ROM of launch photographs. The series documents the evolution of Helen Levine and Oonagh Berry's letter correspondence project.


This sub-series consists of Helen Levine's undeveloped manuscripts, including a book-length project entitled, “Swimming Upstream.” This manuscript is largely based on Helen Levine's Freefall writing workshops from an Ottawa-based writing group. The Freefall method involves writing without self-editing or forethought in order to disengage from the limitations of the ego.

F.S.G. Organisation nationale / W.I.S.E. National organisation

This sub-series provides information on the development of the F.S.G.'s organization at the national level and its membership. It includes administrative documents, correspondence, documents relating to the actions undertaken. She also documents the Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter, as well as the "Prime Minister's Award for Teaching Excellence in Science, Technology and Mathematics".

Project Magnet

Sub series primarily consists of Wilbert Smith's correspondence with various individuals pertaining to—but not limited to—Project Magnet, a program established by Transport Canada to study the phenomena of unidentified flying objects. The program was under the direction of Wilbert Smith through its entirety, from 1950 to 1954. The vast majority of the correspondence are only photocopies.

Book Prize Committee

This subseries consists of documents relating to the Book Prize organized by the Canadian Women's Studies Association (CWSA)'s Book Prize Committee. It contains lists of Book Prize nominees, pamphlets, flyers and emails.

Action éducation des femmes (AEF)

This file consists of documents from the organization Action éducation des femmes, a non profit organization founded in 1980 with regional and provincial representatives and individual contributors with a mandate to improve access to education among francophone women, create better opportunities for training and document diverse problems facing women in education. It contains annual reports, correspondence, a log book, notes, reports, agendas, resumes, meetings' minutes, a poster, lists and letterhead.
