This fonds contains documents relating the life and work of Senator Nancy Ruth. It includes personal correspondence, cards, and photographs. It also contains documents relating to her work as a social activist, and later as a Senator, such as speech drafts, conference documents, and documents showing participation in events. There are secondary sources of background material such as reports, briefings and newspaper clippings related to areas of concern for Nancy Ruth such as women’s equality and ending violence against women, among others. There are documents relating to charities and foundations that were either founded or supported by Nancy Ruth, including administrative documents such as correspondence and applications for funding. Finally, there are many artifacts such as t-shirts, banners, buttons, posters, stamps, a collection of VHS, and personal mementos.

The fonds consists of various materials related to Sylvia Spring's involvement as an activist, filmmaker, and conference speaker. It contains various types of textual, graphic, audio and video documents. It is divided into six series. The first series contains various material related to women’s issues. It includes posters, buttons, and stamps collections. The second series shows Sylvia Spring's various interventions in national and international conferences. The third series contains publications as comic books, dealing with topics related to women and the law, which texts were written by Sylvia Spring. The fourth series consists of records related to Sylvia Spring’s involvement to improve representation of women in the media. It reflects her implication in the MediaWatch organisation. The fifth series highlights Sylvia Spring’s films and productions as “Madeleine is…” (1969-1971), “Breaking the Silence. Stories from Aids Activists” (1996), “20th Century Gals (According to Babe)” (2000). It includes photographs of her meetings with different women filmmakers. The sixth series contains materials collected by Sylvia Spring on issues related to violence against women and includes Sylvia Spring’s documentaries on “Razor's Edge. The Controversy of Female Genital Mutilation” (2005) and “Our bodies… their battleground. Gender Based Violence During Conflict” (2004).

The collection consists of audiovisual material and an archived website. The audiovisual files document interviews, talks, or events with women activists fighting for women's constitutional and human rights. Women activists featured in the collection come from Canada, Afghanistan, South Africa, Rwanda, and Uganda. The archived website Constitute.ca is a multi-media educational resource from the International Women's Rights Project (IWRP). The records date from 1981-2019 and were collected by Susan Bazilli or IWRP. Some of the interviews and footage appear in IWRP's documentary film Constitute! while others document IWRP projects .

The collection consists of more than 450 theatre programs, season calendars, visitor guides, ticket stubs and magazines from 1977 to the present. Over more than 50 years, Canadian actors as Martha Henry, Sandra Oh, Shirley Douglas, Keifer Sutherland, Christopher Plummer, Richard Monette, Brent Carver, Maggie Smith, Heath Lamberts, Brian Bedford, William Hutt, but also major Canadian director and playwrights are represented in this collection.

The fonds consists of content submissions from women on their experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. Submissions are in digital format only in text, image, sound and moving images.
