The Susan Schellenberg and Rosemary Barnes fonds documents the collaboration between the two women, particularly in their joint reflections on the contributions and limitations of conventional mental health care and their joint search for alternatives such as art therapy. Susan Schellenberg and Rosemary Barnes first met in 1990, when they were both active in the struggle of Women's College Hospital against merger with Toronto General Hospital. They co-authored the book "Committed to the Sane Asylum: Narratives on Mental Wellness and Healing". The fonds documents the various reflections, presentations and articles that emerged from this collaboration. This collection consists of material related mostly to Same Damn Bunch Manitoba. This group with a charitable status started in 1975 during the International Women Year. This collection contains also records from other actions for women which took place in Manitoba. It includes records regarding “Our Time is Now”, a Canadian women’s music and cultural festival held in Winnipeg over the Labour Day weekend in the 80s. -- Cette collection se compose de documents liés principalement à Same Damn Bunch Manitoba.
