The Jozef A. Mikuš fonds consists of various documents personally collected by Dr. Mikuš over a lifetime of activities as a diplomat, a jurist, a political activist, an immigrant, a teacher, an officer in various nationalist and political associations, and as a simple citizen. It is very much a “personal” collection of documents that reflects Dr. Mikuš’ views and interests on a multitude of topics, and bears witness to his lifetime involvement in the political history of his country of origin, Slovakia, in the life and struggles of his countrymen, the Slovak people, and in the social and political life of his country of adoption after World War II, the United States of America. Gravitating around these major focal points are documents on a variety of subjects from religion to economy, from freedom of speech to education, political parties to arts and culture, famous politicians to nationalist writers, from nuclear arms to aid programs.

Canadian Women's Movement Archives (CWMA) fonds

This fonds consists of the administrative records of the Canadian Women's Movement Archives (CWMA) from its beginnings in the early 1970s as part of the Women's Information Centre (WIC) until its demise in 1992. It includes meeting minutes, for both CWMA and WIC, and administrative documents on human resources planning and day-to-day log books. It also contains financial documents such as accounting books and bank accounts, as well as correspondence and project/funding proposals. Also included are resources such as newspaper clippings and articles on various subjects, listed alphabetically, which were used as a reference by the members of CWMA.

Ce fonds est constitué des documents administratifs des Archives du Mouvement Canadien des Femmes (AMCF), depuis ses débuts au début des années 1970 au sein du Centre d'information pour les femmes jusqu'à sa disparition en 1992. Il comprend des procès-verbaux de réunions, tant pour la collection AMCF que pour le centre d’information pour les femmes, ainsi que des documents administratifs sur la planification des ressources humaines et des carnets de bord quotidiens. This fonds provides insight into how women in non-traditional work were coping in the 1980s in the Toronto area. The records show how the women in this organization struggled to have their voice heard in the federal and provincial arena. There are significant federal and provincial correspondence that highlights the issues of pay equity, child care legislation and Canadian Human rights actions. The records include correspondence, membership and funding records as well as reports, conference material and newsletters. There are also photographs showing women working in trades.

The fonds consists of documents related to Maureen Jessop Orton's Ph.D thesis (1988-1991) and research projects she worked on, particularly a long-running project on adolescent pregnancy and sexual health in Ontario (1979-1994), as well as a smaller project for the Sexual Health Network of Ontario (SHNO) on the Ontario government's downloading of public health services to municipalities (1999-2001). The fonds includes correspondence, data sheets, newspaper clippings, many research documents and some sex education materials. The collection has a significant amount of material tangentially related to the adolescent pregnancy project, such as documents relating to Orton serving as an expert witness at the Morgentaler trial and the Planned Parenthood of Newfoundland and Labrador libel trial, Orton's conference presentations, and documents related to lobbying efforts by the project members regarding sexual health policy in Ontario.

The fonds documents Frize’s earlier research in Clinical Engineering during her career as biomedical engineer in hospitals. It provides information on Frize’s involvement in the International Federation of Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE) in the 1980s, especially in its Clinical Engineering working group and division. The fonds reports Monique Frize’s activities as chair holder of the national Northern Telecom/NSERC Chair on women in Engineering at the University of New Brunswick (1989-1997). It provides information on the Canadian Committee on Women in Engineering’s (CCWE) function, activities and researches (1990-1995). Furthermore, the fonds gives a highlight on Monique Frize’s activities as chair holder of Ontario NSERC/Nortel joint chair for women in science and engineering (1997-2002). It documents also her position as Professor in the Department of Systems and Computer Engineering at Carleton University, in the School of Information Technology and Engineering at the University of Ottawa. The records related to Frize’s academic career consist of reports, administrative records, correspondence, papers and conference proceedings, research project descriptions, grant applications. The files are related to collaboration with researchers and students, involvement in various scientific and professional committees, researches in biomedical engineering, researches on women in science and engineering.

Monique Frize was member of the WISE organisation and records reflect the support she provides as chair holder to the Ottawa-Carleton WISE Chapter and the Ottawa Student Branch. Some files documents also her involvement in the Ottawa-Carleton Pathmakers program’s activities, fundraising and promotion. As a founding member and president (2002-2008) of International Network of women engineers and scientists (INWES), Monique Frize produced and received organizational documents kept in this fonds. Records from INWES Education Research Institute attest also of her involvement in the creation of the Institute, and of her activities as president.

Monique Frize published several books. The fonds contains various versions of manuscripts and resource materials mostly for the publication of the books The Bold and The Brave: A history of women in science and engineering (2009) and Laura Bassi and Science in 18th Century Europe (2013).

Most of the archival material are in the form of textual records, but it also includes a large number of audio and video tapes that documented interviews with Monique Frize, speeches, conferences and products that she had created.
