Scope and content

Image depicts Rita McNeil singing onstage at Women's Coffee House in May 1974. The image was published on the cover of the August 1974 issues of The Other Woman vol. 3 no.1 . On page 13 of that issue, an article announces the release of 'Born a Woman: Rita MacNeil song-book' with a different picture from the same moment onstage by Annette Clough. The article reads: "BORN A WOMAN is the first songbook to emerge out of The Canadian Women's Movement. Rita began signing and composing when she became involved in the Women's Movement."
