Scope and content

This subseries contains records related to the Ottawa-Carleton WISE Chapter. The Ottawa-Carleton WISE Chapter was founded in 1986, and sustained a successful existence for many years. However, after about a decade, the organization began to suffer from fatigue. The number of activities decreased and it was necessary to consider the fate of the Chapter – whether it should fold, or whether it could be given new life and flourish. Following a meeting in July 1996 with the NSERC/Nortel Chair for WISE in Ontario, Monique Frize, and three other dedicated members of the WISE Chapter, the Ottawa-Carleton WISE Chapter was revived in November 1997, and the new executive was elected. Monique Frize was the president. This provides new impetus for activities and programs in the Ottawa-Carleton/Hull area. This sub-series provides information on chapter organization, membership, communication and activities.
