Scope and content

The poster advertises a festival celebrating the strength and power of indigenous women through music, theatre, story and dance in Toronto. Poster reads "Co-produced by: Dakota - Ojibwa Productions and Womynly Way Productions. Performances by Alanis Obomsawin, Maria Campbell, Jane Peloquin, The Seacows, Peggy Johnston, and Thunderbird Sisters." Painting of a woman sitting crossed legged with palms raised to the sky with wind blowing her done in shades of purple. The poster was originally in the Women's Information Center collection in Toronto. This collection comes from several donations made in the second half of the 1980s, by women involved in several Canadian organizations surrounding the feminist movement since the early 1970s.
