Fonds consists of constitutions and by-laws, letters patent, minutes of annual and council meetings, correspondence, notes, membership lists, survey reports and symposia agendas. Includes files related to the Canadian Federation of Biological Sciences, the International Union of Biochemistry, and the Pan-American Association of Biochemistry Societies.

Biography/Administrative History: 

The Canadian Biochemical Society (CBS) was formed following a meeting of biochemists on 9 October 1957, held at the University of Ottawa. The purpose of the Society is to foster the science biochemistry. CBS was affiliated as a founding society with the Canadian Federation of Biological Societies in 1957, and was incorporated by Letters Patent dated 10 July 1979.
