GIS Day 2020

GIS Day 2020 - Going virtual!

The University of Ottawa is teaming up with our partner institutions across Ontario to take GIS Day virtual from November 16 to November 19, 2020. Registration is open to anyone for free for all four days -- drop in to any session(s) of interest to learn more about ongoing GIS work across the province. Sessions include 7-minute lightning talks, 15-20 minute demonstrations, and 1-hour tutorials. No previous GIS experience required! So if you want to learn more about the impact of climate change, to the location of Shakespeare plays in Ottawa over the past 150 years, to the use of GIS in Pokémon Go, come learn about what you can do with the power of geospatial. Hope to see you in large numbers!

Topics include how a Kiwi surveyor ends up doing GIS in Scotland, how researchers are mapping COVID-19 using GIS applications, and a look at the geography of Pokémon Go. And dozens more! Come learn about what you can do with the power of geospatial.
