Access to Pressbooks

Thinking of adapting or creating an open textbook, another type of open educational resource, or self-publishing a book or a report in various formats? You can use the Pressbooks digital publishing platform!

Available for free through eCampusOntario, it has a bilingual interface, supports publishing in variety of languages, and makes it possible to embed multimedia content (images, audio, video, equations, and more). It also has some 20 professional-looking templates to choose from.

Pressbooks is accessible with your uOttawa login. If you do not have a Pressbooks account already, faculty, students, and staff can instantly create one by following the steps below.

To log in or create an account using uoAccess credentials:

  1. Go to eCampusOntario’s Pressbooks login page.
  2. Select the INSTITUTIONAL LOGIN button to populate the search field.
  3. Look for “Ottawa”.
  4. Select “University of Ottawa” to be directed to the University’s login page.

Once signed in, go to “Admin” in the top right corner to create a new project or “My Books” to access the ones you have already created.
