Esther Anita Owen Jones (1874-1932) was born in Brazil, Indiana, into a musical family, her father being a music teacher and composer [1]. Trained in musical composition, theory, and performance, she began selling music at a young age, and quickly became successful and popular. Selling over 1 million copies of her song "Sweet Bunch of Daisies" [1], she rapidly amassed a sizeable fortune, and especially wrote a considerable array of "flower" songs (lyrics focused on floral sensations.) She was disdainful towards the rise of Jazz, and had quit composing between the 1920's and 1930's, unfortunately died from pneumonia in 1932 [1].

Published under simply "Anita Owen", this waltz love song features words by her as well (she generally preferred using her own lyrics.) Not being one of her 'flower' songs, it nonetheless features what appears to be a massive, blooming flower within the cover image.
