Visualizing Community Across Oceans

To better help visualize the communities under analysis, I have mapped out the societies, conferences, and publication locations referred to throughout the work. For the map itself, red refers to a trans or cross-dressing social club, purple to the city or town where a work was published, and green refers to where a conference was either first held or its main location. This map should only be taken as a visual representation of where this project researched. Trans communities have existed since communities have existed, and the lack of sources is not evidence of absence but instead evidence of both a historiographical hole but also a damning indication of the secrecy often foisted upon the gender variant community. Beyond the points on this map, trans communities and people are everywhere, no matter if they are in the closet or out they remain valid. The map can be found: here
